Many items from the Royal Collections of the Netherlands can be seen by visitors to Koninklijk Paleis Amsterdam and Dutch museums to which they have been loaned on a long-term basis, such as Paleis Het Loo, Nederlands Openluchtmuseum, Nederlandsche Bank and Rijksmuseum Amsterdam and Rijksmuseum van Oudheden. We are also one of the country’s leading sources of short-term loans for temporary exhibitions in the Netherlands and abroad. In this way we ensure that as many people as possible can enjoy our treasures.

A small part of the Royal Collections of the Netherlands is displayed in the family museum at the Royal House Archive, where the Royal Collections of the Netherlands are based. Although this is primarily an administrative building, groups of visitors are warmly welcomed to take a guided tour. As these guided tours take place during office hours the number of visits per year is limited and there may be a waiting list. Your understanding is appreciated.

About the tour

The guided tour lasts about 75 minutes. It must be arranged with us in advance, to take place on a weekday between 10am and 4pm. Groups of between 10 and 22 people are welcome. We regret that the Royal House Archive is not fully accessible by persons with limited mobility. The Royal House Archive is situated in a restricted area which means that for security reasons, we are required to provide the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee with the names of all members of your group at least five days before the visit. All participants also need to produce a valid identity document upon arrival and only those who have registered with us will be admitted. The guided tour costs €75 per group, payable in advance.
